Bakalao Display is our first typeface family designed to honor La Ruta. A journey through Valencia from the early 80s to the mid-90s, a route through the city’s subversive side, its lights and shadows, its iconic places, and the protagonists of a sociocultural phenomenon that placed it at the forefront of European modernity. It is inspired by the concept of “parkineo”, the early signs of raves and massive parking lot parties. It draws from the visual language of highway signage at the same time. Available type weights: Regular, italic and slanted The Bakalao Display typeface includes an extensive set of characters covering both the standard and extended Latin alphabet, compatible with more than 90 European languages. It offers full support for Catalan, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, German, Czech, Polish, Turkish, Romanian, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Icelandic, Estonian, Lithuanian, Slovenian, and many other languages that use the Latin alphabet. In addition, it features a carefully curated selection of diacritical marks, superscript numbers, currency symbols (€£$¥), mathematical symbols, special glyphs for punctuation, copyright and registered trademark signs, as well as a series of exclusive illustrative glyphs inspired by road signs and traffic iconography, which can be used as symbols or decorative elements within the typographic system.
