Bailar en la era del No-Futuro explores contemporary experimental dance in relation to the concept of destitution. Situated within the events that emerged in the wake of May '68 and May 2011, and through an intense dialogue with dance studies, political philosophy, and diverse audiovisual and literary references, choreographer and researcher Paz Rojo proposes the possibility of a dance detached from the neoliberal framework that governs self-performance, entrepreneurship, and the production of subjectivity. A dance that does not need to exhaust itself by projecting into the future, because it is already happening. By challenging the performative regime, the author traces the necessary conditions for this movement to embody a new relationship with contemporaneity. "An imaginative and radical essay that explores the political power of dance by resisting the ideas of progress and accumulation, so prevalent in the neoliberal capitalist exploration of creativity. This book is a powerful mediation of the potential of dance." Bojana Kunst
